I am beginning to enjoy life and think I will settle down

Today a wormy root sprung from the seed that was in hibernation.
It gripped onto a rib and looks like it may live,
and a hyacinth could sprout.

Tonight I sterilize my scalpel
and slice out this lotus-lout.
